We believe in the power of Nature writing and storytelling. Let us tell your story of Nature recovery.

Meet Peter

Peter is a gardner, and owner of the successful landscaping business and nursery, Ocean Road Landscaping.  He is also the author of Soulscape – connecting gardens to landscape.

Meet Mark

We are both fathers, driven by a commitment to intergenerational equity, so that our respective children can have the same experiences of wonder in Nature that we have been fortunate to have.

We see the Nature recovery movement (and the individuals and organisations involved in rewilding and ecological restoration), as reflecting a growing social narrative which sees Nature not as Eden (without people) or only as spoils and for extraction (humans as separate from Nature), but of ‘Nature as garden’, in which people are integral, Nature to be protected and looked after. When we say, ‘Nature is my Garden’, is it both personal and shared, both an individual and a common responsibility, to tend and cultivate for the long term the garden on which we all depend.

Mark is an environmental lawyer, the current President of the National Environmental Law Association, and a Trustee of Trust for Nature (Victoria), one of the oldest private land conservation organisations created by statute in Victoria in 1972.

How and why we tell your story

Podcast

We interview you in person (in audio and video podcast), ideally at your property or project site (or online if in person is not possible). We ask about your first experiences of Nature and gardening, your favourite Nature writing, the challenges and successes of your Nature recovery project (personal, political, legal, social and ecological).

Blog

We write a regular blog and will share your story in writing and pictures on our website. We will share our favourite Nature recovery stories from around the world, new and old Nature writing, poetry, painting, photography, film and information about individuals and organisations doing good work for Nature.

Impact

We want to inspire others, for these positive stories to be an antidote to the often-depressing news cycle of climate disaster, ecological collapse, species decline and extinctions. There are so many inspiring and beautiful stories to be told. Stories of rewilding, ecological restoration, caring for country and Nature recovery.

Any funds raised through our podcasting and social media will be invested in Nature, the acquisition and covenanting of a property or donation to an organisation doing that work.
